Bump
May someone get this post updated with a new procedure for the latest version of Ubuntu. With Jaunty and Karmik, installing apple wireless keyboard is still a problem. It's get pair but not working on reboot.
Thanks for any help provided.
If you use desktop computer: add "hid_apple" in /etc/modules.conf
But if you use laptop-you won´t be able to use internal keyboard.
Before that you have to connect with bluetooth-manager or blueman your apple keyboard for the first time. Be careful, you have to repeat connecting procedure at least 2 times to actually connect keyboard to computer. After that it should work...
MacBook Pro7,1, Ubuntu 11.04 64bit
My Apple bluetooth keyboard is up and working in Lucid thanks to this thread (and the great Ubuntu developers.)
Just follow previous post instructions
I'm not sure if you're referring to the same problem I have. Actually it's more of a minor annoyance than a problem.
After upgrading to Lucid I find that at the login screen when I turn my keyboard on I cannot get a connection. I have to turn the keyboard off and then on again to get it to work. Seems slightly strange why it only connects on the 2nd attempt!
Not sure if this will help.
Clean install of 10.04 (64 bit)
Gnome Bluetooth manager
My Keyboard is latest model with (2 batteries).
At login screen there is a slight 1-2 second lag with indicator light showing progress.
