Setting higher screen resolution

Hi

I can set my screen resolution to 1280 x 1024 in Windows, but not in Ubuntu. The 1280 x 1024 option does not display in System-Pref-Display

My monitor is:

MAG Innovision 770FS

My graphics card is:

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. CN700/P4M800 Pro/P4M800 CE/VN800 [S3 UniChrome Pro] (rev 01)
