Hi.
The HITACHI DVD CAM GX3200e camera is working good on Windows XP installed on a desktop computer. Then I've been trying to interact with my camera using Ubuntu 8.10 on ACER Aspire 5730z.
manolo@manolo-acer:~$ lsusb
Bus 005 Device 004: ID 04a4:0043 Hitachi, Ltd
Connecting the camera to my USB ports produces nothing relevant, I mean no new device is displayed on my Desktop, nor in Places, nor in Places->Computer.
WINEOn Win XP I can access the camera and download/convert videos from my mini DVD to hard disk using ImageMixer3. Installing/running ImageMixer3 through wine doesn't solve the problem: no device (nor camera, nor dvd device of my laptop) is shown into the list of importing devices
VirtualBoxAlso, I've been trying installing ImageMixer3 on a Win XP virtualized on Virtual Box. Again it's impossible to access to the videos. I can just see VBOX CDrom device (the virtualization of my laptop's dvd drive, I suppose) but actually ImageMixer3 gives a kind of "unknown format" error when trying to import videos. Again, it's impossibile to see my Hitachi Camera in the list of the importing devices.
Does anyone have any suggestion on how to access to the camera?
Thanks
