Hello. If anyone can help mwe out here it would be incredible. I just got a HP nc4010 laptop second hand and can't seem to get any wireless working. For a while I thought maybe it just doesn't have wireless but I saw an option to turn the wireless button off in the laptops BIOS which also stated "wireless networking status: ON". All of the spec sheets I can find on the net say integrated wireless on this laptop also.

Using ubuntu I can see no signs of wireless. lspci has Broadcom NetXtreme BCM5705M under ethernet controller but I see no mention of wireless. The network manager finds nothing. "iwconfig" states "no wireless connections" on lo and eth0.

I have no idea what else to try as my only other experience with wireless on ubuntu went perfectly first time.

Any help would be very much welcomed!
