Question How do I format a HDD through Ubuntu

    I've got three HDD's
    160G (SATA)
    240G (SATA)
    40G (IDE)
    all Western Digital
If I am running off of any one of these how could I format the other two and make them recognizable by a Windows Boot disk. the larger two are not seen when in a windows setup screen.

I hope someone has seen something like this before.

Are they already detected in BIOS? if it is detected in BIOS it can be seen by most of the OS, if not then it could be the SATA drive support issue. You need proper drivers for the particular OS to get detect the drive during installation.

From the look of it there is one big difference with his computer. He can see all his hard drives. Even after a clean install of Windows XP Pro with all the updates I still can't do anything to my drives because they just don't show up either in the My Computer screen or the Disk Management window
