I'm embarrassed to say I'm not 100% sure (this isn't a primary use laptop, and it isn't mine) but I'm pretty confident after digging around a little online that it's a Via Unichrome chipset. The model of laptop is Averatec 3225hs, if that helps any.

But I agree, seems like it has to be the video issue. Any assistance would be hugely appreciated!!
