Hopefully I won't think of anything new I really must add for quite a while, I have my layout just how I want it.
All my work now is in patching up the old conkyForecastWU code (my new hobby) and getting the weather images to show up correctly. As far as I can tell, they are, but I had to move the icon images to another web site found here. The original location was buggy and made it impossible to rename images once downloaded.
Who's Awesome? You're Awesome.
@ Petro Dawg
Why did you have to move the images to a different website?
Aren't the images stored locally like conkyForecast does?
No they are not stored locally, conkeyForecastWU normally pulls images from the api weather underground web site and saves them in the system tmp folder; and I think all their icons are waaaay outdated.
Original conkyForecastWU config code:
where <icon_set> has a value between a and k assigned by the user in the configuration file, and <icon> is the weather condition automatically retrieved by the weather underground api site. For example if you use icon set c and conkyForecastWU determines that it is cloudy, you will get the following image pulled and saved to your tmp folder:Code:http://icons.wxug.com/i/c/<ICON_SET>/<ICON>.gif
http://icons.wxug.com/i/c/c/cloudy.gif
Until I figure out how to get it to pull from locally stored images, I will have to keep an icon set accessible by web address.
I changed the <icon_set> value to be 1 (I may add more later), but the <icon> value is assigned by weather underground, so I must name my icons accordingly.

6! For that cute little thing.
Of course now I have to try and duplicate that into one conky.
- conkyForecast first and then
- mrpeachys v9000 LUA script and then
- one of Teo's scripts
It's the cutest lil-weather script south of the "49th parallel north" =D>
Care to share this: sunrise2.png

This is how I did it with my script which uses the WU API but not one of their icon sets.
1. Put all your images in a folder (how you organize them in there is up to you).
2. Write a function that determines which image in that folder to use for each weather condition.
a. If you use the weather image names from WU in this function it will work for multiple languages without running into translation issues.
b. If you use the actual condition names delivered from the API (what I did) it will only work for one language (without a translation table) but you can get more image variety that way.
3. Construct the whole path to the image file using the data return from the image picking function
4. Pass that path to "${image}" in conky.Code:image_path = "path_to_image_folder/" + "location_in_image_folder"
My script used to be all Python (some of conkyforecastWU is based on it) so I have the image picking function I use in Python if you want to see it.
