    Cool Mistyped a command in terminal/Server

    Hi guys,

    This seems like something that could happen a lot or maybe just me, but every now and again I will mistype a command in Ubuntu server or in the terminal, for example;
    "if config" - the command ifconfig, but accidentally hit the space bar, it will then display ">" symbol and wont take anymore commands.
    In the terminal not so bad, close the terminal window and start over, but in server I have to use a ctrl+alt+del to force a reboot.

    So my question, how do get it to take me back to prompt?

    Cheers,

    Corey.

    "if" without quotes is a shell command so will return >

    To return to prompt press ctrl + c

    Hal8000,

    Absolutely smashing! I searched google results for 20 mins and couldn't find anything.
    I had tried CTRL+Q, ALT+Q, ESC etc.

    Much appreciated,

    Corey.
