AMD A6 APU chip - any compabilty issues with 12.04

I'm looking to build my own pc and build using an AMD A6 5400k APU chip due to its cost and the integrated graphics running ubuntu 12.04 (perhaps 12.10!).

Are there any issues with these processors? I notice issues were reported with the older chips?

    amd info here

    looking at pairing with a Gigabyte GA-F2A75M-D3H FM2 m'board

You might check out phoronix.com and see if they have any reviews.

    QIII, thanks for your suggestion

having checked the AMD A10-5800K seems to be reviewed as a resonable chip slight concerns regarding the Catalyst proprietary driver on Linux - anyone use this, thinking it might be better to stick to intel? celeron?

I'd stick with Intel, they have a lot better compatibility with Linux.

I agree with Axxon95, I was about to post the same thing. I would also use 12.04 instead of 12.10
If you do a search you will find a lot of threads detailing problems with 12.10.
