[Solved] 12.04 thinks my desktop is a laptop

Only one of my monitors, which is connected with VGA is showing up, and the other, connected via HDMI does not show up at all. Now I will go ahead and not that on 11.04 this other monitor worked fine, and has worked fine in many other linux distros. To get 12.04 to actually install, I needed to select 'nomodeset' on boot. After it installed, I went to Display settings to figure out why my other monitor was not showing up, to find that it considered my first display as "Laptop" and would not detect my other display.

I know it sounds rudimentary, but have you restarted your machine?

Re: 12.04 thinks my desktop is a laptop

Solved. It was not because I needed to restart my computer (lol) but instead because Nvidia's manager was not showing up for some reason. Fixed now, however Unity is still very buggy with this setup.
