Streaming to an iPad (for idiots)

    Hi all!

I would like to be able to stream media on my hard drive to my iPad via Wifi. I have looked for tutorials and know it is possible, but don't understand most of the instructions. I am a total beginner with Ubuntu, I have no programming experience, and so I'm here asking if anyone has the patience to put instructions in complete layman's terms, that are easy to follow. I really don't want to look like an idiot having to respond that I have no clue what you just said.

A bit of background to help.

    I am on 11.04.
    My iPad is jailbroken.
I do not have access to iTunes.

Thanks guys, you save my life on a regular basis.

right click on the folder you want to share in ubuntu, an select share.

on your ipad search the app store for "remote file viewer" by tiod(free) & install that.
in tiod click "my pc" & "scan", i'm sure you can figure it out from there.

also oplayer(free) can connect to samba & stream video.
