    Ubuntu is experiencing frequent crashes

I bought an Asus B53J laptop several months ago, and after two reinstallations, my computer is still crap. Ubuntu crashes frequently. Often, the computer stalls at the bootloader. I'm really vexed. I don't know where to even start with something like this. Its not a component or a program, its my whole damn computer that isn't working.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

From the boot menu you can choose a memory test. If you let it run for a while (might take all night) do you see any errors?
