    Partitioning- New User

Hello I just partitioned my hard drive and downloaded ubuntu!! However, I think I only gave my ubuntu OS partition 18gigs to work with and left the rest with windows. is there a way to make my ubuntu-side partition bigger without redoing everything??

    Thanks!

defrag windows a couple of times.

Back up everything you don't want to loose .

    Boot the Ubuntu live cd

Open the partition editor then shrink windows and increase the free partition into the extra space.

Not really. It is recommended to resize windows using the native windows program. If you want to make more room.

But, 18Gb should be roomy enough to do the install
