Unhappy ASUS K53U LCD issue with Ubuntu 10.10

    Hi all,

I've just got a new ASUS K53U laptop with AMD E-450 (ATI HD6320).

I'm having a resolution issue with the LCD: the LCD should be configured as 1366*768 but it's at 1024*768 and I can't change it. Also the desktop effects are not turned on.

So this looks like a kernel issue. I did a full update but the problem is still there.

I understand that the problem will probably go away once I upgrade to 11.x but I'd like to stay with 10.10 if I can.

    Any help?

    Thanks,

I had low resolution on an N73J (with 11.10) after installing, but the problem went away after activating the NVIDIA proprietary driver.
