    alternative to macromedia flash

    is there an open source alternative to macromedia flash?

    as far as i know there are only threee different flash players that work


    flashplugin-nonfree (abobe flash)

    swfdec-mozilla (shockwave flash)

    gnash (the open source alternative to adobe)

    apparently f4l should make .swf files, but the tricky thing is to get it installed.

    i guess there is not one, except MS silverlight. even if there is, it is a shame that open source community failed to make a mainstream alternative.
