I am a fairly new Ubuntu user and I am having trouble with my wireless connection. I have a Dell Inspiron 1018 with the realtek 8101 8102 wireless card. I have downloaded a related driver using

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:lexical/hwe-wireless
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install rtl8192ce-dkms

this worked fine for a couple of days, but now the wireless is offline again. I checked the additional drivers and it states that the driver is activated but not currently in use.

I have checked with realtek and they inform me that the linux driver for the 8101/8102 in included in the kernel. What does that supposed to mean? Anyway, I am frustrated and my family and friends are laughing at me. HELP!
