How do I resize Nautilus columns?

Running Hardy Heron on a PC

For some reason I can no longer move the column dividers in Nautilus list view. If I hover over the column divider I get the double arrow, but even when I move to the left to make a column bigger, it either doesn't move at all or it jumps all the columns (except the first one) to the right. The file name column takes up at least 3/4 of the screen width even if the actual name is only a few characters long. All the other columns are truncated so one can't really see what they say. I have looked in the help section but it doesn't say anything about resizing columns.

Confirmed in Karmic. Seems to have been around since at least Feisty.

I am able to resize the name column if I unmaximize the Nautilus window.

Re: How do I resize Nautilus columns?

I tried unmaximizing the window but there seems to be a minimum value for the name column that is hard programmed. In a maximized window you can make any of the columns bigger but there seems to be a minimum value for each one. It would be nice to be able to see the whole screen without scrolling.

This is still unresolved for me in Karmic. Even unmaximizing the window no longer helps. The Name column in list view cannot be made smaller. The default value is too large and wastes space. Has this been resolved in Lucid?

Not resolved in Lucid with Nautilus 2.30.1.

Question Re: How do I resize Nautilus columns?

Nautilus 2.28.1 in Fedora 12: Name column is resizable.

Nautilus 2.28.1 in Ubuntu 9.10: Name column is not resizable.

Still unable to resize the name column in list-view. Is this fixed in maverick?

Sadly I'll have to bump this as well. I'd fill out a bug report if I could figure out what the cause is.
