Error message on fresh install of 10.10

I've just wiped my vista laptop clean and installed Ubuntu 10.10.

When I went to the Synaptic Package Manager I got this message

W: An error occurred during the signature verification. The repository is not updated and the previous index files will be used. GPG error: http://extras.ubuntu.com maverick Release: The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY DB141E2302FDF932

    W: Failed to fetch http://extras.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/maverick/Release

W: Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

I have no idea what all this means, but is there anything that I can do to resolve it?

    Cheers

Thank you for replying but unfortunately my computer skills don't go far beyond hitting a few icons on a screen and surfing the web.

Could you please point me in the direction of an idiots guide to resolve this issue.

    Cheers

Re: Error message on fresh install of 10.10

open a terminal and paste in this:
    Code:
    sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys 16126D3A3E5C1192
hopefully that will work for you. has for the other bug responders

Open a terminal and use copy and paste for the command below.

You needed to change the command to your key value.

    Code:
    sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys DB141E2302FDF932

Re: Error message on fresh install of 10.10

Seems to have done the trick as I no longer get the error message.

Does this mean that I no longer have any problems with the repository?

    Cheers

    if
    Code:
    sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade
(check for updates and install them if found) works without errors, then yes your issues regarding your current repos shoudl be resolved.
