My first time to visit here. Twice I installed Maverick 10.10. First install, one day my Places menu would not bring up my Home folder. I got Error dialog box that said File not found.
So I reinstalled Ubuntu 10.10 and upgraded to new kernel version. Everything was fine till I used my USB flashdrive to reinstall an app. Immediately afterward, when I went to places and clicked on Home, I got the SAME Message that Home File is not found. What's going on? Not sure if using my flash drive would cause this, but it has happened (the Places Menu not working) in two installs of this release. I didn't use the USB flash drive first install, so I have no idea why it disappeared then.
Has anyone any knowledge of how a whole directory (Home nor any of the places in Home---Desktop, Documents, Downloads, Music, etc.) all will not work from menu.
To access I have to go to Computer, and my home directory and all the places is listed there. I am absolutely at a loss as to how to fix this, and indeed have no idea what's causing it. I'll have to uninstall this distro and put Mint 9 back in here if I can't get this fixed.
