    Re: Kickstarter Games for Linux

It was kind of a happy accident, while I was writing this thread about non-game Linux crowdfunding campaigns.

Found your thread while checking if anybody already posted about OpenOctave. Quite happy to have found more than I was looking for.

    Re: Ongoing crowdfunding campaigns

The funding drive for Blender video editor failed and it was even cited as a bad example of crowdfunding in an article: http://www.heise.de/open/artikel/Die...l-1478542.html
Blenderheads wondered why the person behind this did not go through the proper channels, Blender Foundation/Ton.

Yorba (the folk behind shotwell) are gearing up for a crowdfunder for Geary (their email client). The are currently asking for videos about Shotwell or Geary.

The fund raiser is live now http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/ge...e-email-client
