[ubuntu] Re: which wireless router for panp5?

There is no need to match up the card with the router. They're both wireless devices which communicate using standard protocols.

Hardware is only as efficient as it's lowest bottleneck. ...

[ubuntu] Re: Is a System76 laptop right for me?

I don't know... the asus transformer pulls the convertible tablet off amazingly. Their Zenbook is really nice too. That thinkpad xseries aint too bad either.
  3. [other] Re: Gazelle Professional laptop and NVidia graphics?

I haven't seen any pictures with those on it (don't own one) but it's possible. Some newer systems I've seen from other vendors have dual video cards which can be used accordingly.

    Re: Stallman and Disney

As reliant as Disney is on technology, I don't see this as some sort of underlying attack. I'm not saying Disney are saints, but it would be evidently suicidal for them to launch any sort of...

[other] Re: gazelle professional vga out

By the way I meant dual monitors in the sense of separate display on laptop screen and vga monitors. Some machines only do mirroring, but others support a separate external display from the laptop...

[other] Re: gazelle professional vga out

I dont think any laptop will give you support for "a couple monitors". I think the Thinkpads with docks may but I'm not sure.

    [other] Re: Consensus on HDMI

I don't really expect an answer because it's more a virtualbox question. If I get the 3720 with VT-d, will vms be able to talk directly to the hdmi-out? I'm only asking because I'm assuming direct...

[ubuntu] Re: Why does system 76 use nvidia graphics?

isantop left out security. Nvidia drivers have big enough security holes you could drive emacs through them.

    [other] Re: Consensus on HDMI

It could be your television settings. My TV has multiple input formats. You have to switch to the correct input through the menu in order for your tv to listen on that port.

    [other] Consensus on HDMI

How is the HDMI output on the current laptops? I was particulary thinking of using the Gazelle Professional connected to a 32" 1080i television to watch youtube documentaries.

Re: Netbook Edition & Gnome Panel

I agree it sucks. I dont use bluetooth, nor facebook and all that stuff that the indicator applet is for. Plus I miss my weather applet. Very disappointed at this.

Re: What do you want for Christmas?

Leatherman Juice S2 and Mini 9 RAM, if anyone asks.

Usually if I want something I just buy it myself. Losing 60 pounds would rock.
