And i'm sure that you can burn an image of Puppy Linux on a CD, it is about 120Mb i think.

Why don't you try Puppy Linux or any other very-lightweight distro? If you are unsure whether any distro is suitable for you or not, search for reviews about it and check!

Download the "Alternate" version, it is recommended for systems with less than 256Mb RAM.

If you are looking for a good looking desktop environment (at least in my opinion) stick to Unity. But if you are looking for better performance, LXDE is the choice for you.
