unity is nice but i liked xfce 4.8 better imho

i left the recover partion intact and use ubuntus partion editor and resized the main windows partion and then created the 2 partions i needed for ubuntu / and swap
so i have my recovery and ubuntu...

my procudure i used to compile the zen kernel

why dont you post a down and dirty howto for your kernel the way you do it

try mounting the copyd folder to a dvd/cd mount point
