I'm installing Hardy Heron on several old Dell's and donating them to less fortunate folks. Is there a way I can set it to automatically log-in at startup, not require the password?

How would I configure the reefit screen to stay up longer when I start up?
I'm using Ubuntu 9.10 on a Mac. I can run and type code into HTML Kit (using Wine), but for some reason the 'preview' option does not work. Any suggestions?
I ended up adding
options snd-hda-intel model=mbp3to the end of my ala-base.conf file and my speakers and mic jac work now.
I'm definitely not an expert, but you could try deleting yaboot and then in Mac OSX go to utilities>startup disk and set it to boot to Linux. Might work.

Alright I was finally able to fix this. I'll tell u what I did maybe u can help someone else out with it.
Logged on as root user I went to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf and added
Ok, apparently it does work. I discovered that if I just push the "option" button and release it.. rather than holding it down, the reefit menu comes up. Strange. Thanks for your help tho!
Unfortunately the volume still isn't at it's full potential. I have Bose speakers that hook up through the mic jack and I should be able to blow myself away. But the computer speakers themselves...

I have iMac 8,1 with Intel, running OS X 10.5.4
I turned everything up to max with alsa mixer but it's still very quiet.
I have an iMac running OSX and my sound is working in Ubuntu 9.1 but the volume is just really low so that's pretty annoying. I have built in Intel High Def Audio. Can anyone help me out with this...
