  1. Re: Computer doesn't always resume from suspend

What kernels do you now have installed?
    Show the output of
ls /boot | grep vmlinuz which will show us installed kernels. If you have only those two I would keep the old one but if you have more...

Have a look at the Power manager settings -> Display tab where you may find a setting to blank the screen after a set time.
  6. [other] Re: Grub - Accidentally deleted grub partition.

As Impavidus in post #4 it would make a lot of sense for you to run the boot info script, not a default repair, by following the instructions for Boot-Repair in my signature.
    Post back the pastebin...
  7. [other] Re: Grub - Accidentally deleted grub partition.

What I suspect you removed was a very small, 1-2M approx, FAT32 partition, flagged as bios_grub which is essential for using GPT partitioning in a BIOS/MBR system.

Using a legacy (not UEFI) live...
  8. Re: mistake with grub customizer makes my laptop only boot to UEFI settings

If your computer is now booting to the UEFI settings surely you can again change the boot priority.

You obviously need to put the Ubuntu option in those settings as the first boot priority, but...
