The problem has been solved. I had to tick the box 'Available for all users' in the connection settings to get it working.

I'm sorry for the necro, but this problem can be 'solved' by going to Settings --> Subtitles. You can change the subtitles' size there. Change it from 'Normal' to 'Small'. That will give you better...
