  1. [ubuntu] Re: 12.04LTS - Apache 2.2.22 stops responding nightly - need to restart every morning

Dang, that would've been more convenient. I already rebuilt it, but when I inevitably have to do this again in the future, I'll use your method. That's a lot easier.

And it seems the mod_ssl issue...
  2. [ubuntu] Re: 12.04LTS - Apache 2.2.22 stops responding nightly - need to restart every morning

After some frustrating debugging, I think I've tracked it down to mod_ssl. I have a single site (not of huge importance) that uses SSL. I hammered that one site, and I was able to reproduce the...
  3. [ubuntu] Re: 12.04LTS - Apache 2.2.22 stops responding nightly - need to restart every morning

I'm wanting to reformat anyway just because of this stupid apache error that no one can seem to diagnose. I've had the same install upgraded through several LTS versions, so it might just be that...

  5. [ubuntu] Re: 12.04LTS - Apache 2.2.22 stops responding nightly - need to restart every morning

Yeah, I checked apache and syslogs, and I don't see anything indicating a problem. That's why this is so confusing.
  6. [ubuntu] Re: 12.04LTS - Apache 2.2.22 stops responding nightly - need to restart every morning

Sorry for the slow responses - Christmas and all. Yes, it does appear that it's only listening on ipv6.... Very odd indeed. Here's my virtualhost:

    <VirtualHost 173.255.198.65:80...
  7. [ubuntu] Re: 12.04LTS - Apache 2.2.22 stops responding nightly - need to restart every morning

Ok, here's the output right now (apache stopped responding as expected last night and is currently not responding):

    $ sudo netstat -nlp | grep 80
    tcp6 0 0 :::80 ...
  8. [ubuntu] Re: 12.04LTS - Apache 2.2.22 stops responding nightly - need to restart every morning

Hm, I'm not sure how to tell whether apache is listening on port 80. I tried "lsof -i" and saw nothing. netstat didn't really show anything either. Is there a specific command I should use?
  9. [ubuntu] Re: 12.04LTS - Apache 2.2.22 stops responding nightly - need to restart every morning

The reason I edited /etc/hosts is because Linode's setup instructions say to do so.

Good question about port 80.... I'll check the next time it happens (probably tomorrow). It was non-responsive...
  10. [ubuntu] 12.04LTS - Apache 2.2.22 stops responding nightly - need to restart every morning

I have a Linode running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, current with all updates. Every morning for the last couple weeks, I've noticed that Apache is non-responsive. I have to restart (sudo service apache2...

Re: Mount samba shares with utf8 encoding using cifs

Just thought I'd bump to say that I also got this guy mounted permanently via fstab using essentially the same command. You rock. :)

Awesome, that finally worked. Thanks for helping me out. And for future reference, I was able to shorten the command to this:

Re: Mount samba shares with utf8 encoding using cifs

This is just weird. smbtree refuses to output anything.

    fangs404@fangs404-desktop:~$ smbtree --user=fangs404

    fangs404@fangs404-desktop:~$

I'm typing the password to the share.

Re: Mount samba shares with utf8 encoding using cifs

It didn't work. I ran smbtree, it asked for my password, I typed it, and then it didn't output anything.

Re: Mount samba shares with utf8 encoding using cifs

Alright, I tried the chown command, and I also installed winbind which allows me to do this now:

That works just as 192.168.1.100 did before. It works...

Re: Mount samba shares with utf8 encoding using cifs

Alright, I read through the first few pages of this thread, and I haven't gotten anywhere. I have a Thecus N4100Pro that I'm trying to mount via the command line, and I'm having issues. I dual boot...

  20. Re: btnx: Send keyboard and mouse combination events with mouse buttons

I just checked to see if a new version was released, and I'm glad I did. I was running on a really old version.

I'm trying to update, though, and I'm having some problems uninstalling the old...

Oh, haha, duh! I was off (I was looking at 8 vs 1 instead of 8 vs 11). :)

And by the way, this is fantastic. It does pretty much everything I'd like. Thanks!

This looks really neat. I'm excited as the proud owner of an MX Revolution.

I have 1 quick question, though. I browsed through your SVN repository, and there're many more recent tags than 0.2.11...

    UT2004 patch breaks the game

I installed UT2004 last night, and it ran just fine. I downloaded the 3369 patch (http://www.beyondunreal.com/main/ut2004/ut2004essential.php) and attempted to install it by just copying the files...
