Double negative, if you want an actual shadow then make one. The original goal was to define the transparency accurately. Right now it looks sloppy and unfinished.

That works mostly but I can still easily see the shadow around both the penguin and the letters, it really looks too sloppy if you intend to use it for professional purposes. There's got to be a...

On another forum I saw someone say that these cards use a Realtek chip that requires separate drivers to show the audio HDMI device. Realtek seems to provide linux drivers. ...
Hello folks, I recently bought a 7750 with the intention of using the HDMI output to my receiver in the living room. Install went without a hitch, by default Ubuntu puts a "hardware not supported"...
State might be bad, I'm just starting my forum/internet search. I bought a 7750 explicitly for an HTPC machine in my living room which runs ubuntu. Drivers apparently installed but it's showing up...
bcbc, that's interesting. I didn't used to get this message before I imaged onto a new drive. I will attempt the solutions you posted and reply here to say how it worked.
Hello, I'm here to report about my situation and ask how to go about fixing my wubi install.
I had to use wubi because a BIOS update to my Asus motherboard no longer allows linux CDs to be...
Faldrich I'm not sure if you got your issue resolved. Electric sheep is just a screensaver app which is accessible through xscreensaver as configured on my machine. Through the xscreensaver...
I know it's been brought up earlier but MyPaint is pretty cool for actually painting. Today was the first time I actually gave it a proper shot and time. Things I like about it:

OK found an answer here:

This is along the lines I was thinking after everything was installed.

Well I still haven't been able to resolve this issue, I might have to resort to some hackery soon. However, I did find out Electric Sheep is available for windows and mac too. Love that screensaver.
I just went through the mess of installing the xscreensavers but for some reason Electric Sheep is not showing up in the menu where I can select which screensaver I want working.
Can someone post...
I only have 1 cd drive, I'm sure it's booting off it. My supergrub disk boots ok for some reason off ths drive, thankfully.
I tried booting with another cd rom drive from a different machine...
Aaah yes, I attempted doing this but the EZ flash tool Asus provides doesn't allow me to load a BIOS with an older date on it... plus I can't roll too far back, my CPU isn't supported by very old...
drs305 thanks for your prompt response, I attempted pressing F6 and it still gets stuck in the same spot, I don't get any options at all.
Hello everyone,
A couple months ago I attempted upgrading to 11.04 and the upgrade did not go well. Had frequent freezes and eventually had to wipe out my linux partitions and start from scratch....
Neither of these solutions has worked for me by the way. Only the subfolder icons are missing off the bookmarks toolbar in Firefox 4, Ubuntu 11.04x64
Hello everyone. I'm sure there's a better place for this than the Ubuntu forums but I want to post about it and hopefully get a good answer.
I just upgraded to 11.04 and I see Banshee is the...
My apologies for the earlier post, it appears that after rebooting everything worked. Never had any errors I just thought that after the steps above I could log out/in and it would detect. Matter...
Just got a LiDE 210 and I cannot get it to work following the instructions above. Xsane and SimpleScan both say scanner not detected.Anyone else having these issues?
Small update, I noticed some performance issue on the site with this script so I recently uninstalled it and instead am using a random php generation for the header. It's a cool script but it had...
No I've not tried it. Ideally what I want is a high fidelity two way sync which will recognized when files are deleted, renamed and moved around.
I recently heard about Dropbox and I'm curious to...
I'm a bit lost as to why you're going about this the hard way. Is there a reason why you don't use the fglrx drivers Ubuntu provides.
Hello,
I've been looking around recently for syncing software. Something like software raid but that can be set up to specify specific files, folders and a good two-way sync. Basically I want it...
The save for web plugin is a gimmick at this stage mostly intended to mirror a PS "feature". I know I mentioned it earlier but I also agree it's more trouble than it's worth and probably misled you...
