Yes, I tried the blacklist approach, but that approach has a problem. at startup the wifi hardware switch is still seen as turned to the off position, and the rfkill unblock won't work to unblock it...
No luck. Suspend still got stuck.
I wonder if there is any chance it could be related to other issues I am having. The internal mic doesn't seem to be working, the wireless hardware switch needs...

My hardware is an ideapad s205. Ubuntu 11.04 up and going, but trying to work through some issues. wifi, card reader, mic, etc.
Probably the biggest pain at the moment is that shutdown, restart,...

headphones jack,
sd card reader
I'll try to post back if I get any of these figured out in case anyone else has...

I had a similar problem with GRUB on the s205. installed 11.04 and after restart it just went right back into windows. like nothing had changed but the hard drive was smaller for the windows...
I am in the same boat. Haven't been able to solve. This is one of 4 machines I have running Ubuntu and the only one I have ever had a problem with as far as the cd/dvd drives go.

Actually there is now a section for Novatel devices in the 10-modem.fdi file. it already contained the portion for...
Hmmmm... seemed like a perfect solution, worked flawlessly on of my systems that had been upgraded from 9.10 to 10.04, but not so well on another system that was a fresh install of 10.04. It did...
i am going to try the latest wizardpen driver first. and I will post back here.
any update on this? I just got one of these pens as a gift. I am not going to use windows in a virtual box to use it. its just not worth the hassle for that I think, but if I could get it working in...

this also worked for my dv4 1114nr -- thanks!
does anyone know how to update the bios if you no longer have windows on your system? maybe WINE can run the .exe that HP provides?
any suggestions are welcome. I would really like to be able to...
I am really hoping this issue is fixed soon. turning off the file browser pane isn't really a good solution for me. Luckily my filebrowser is just really slow. it doesn't crash gedit. I agree that...
