Hey thanks for the reply. Where did you dig up this thread from? I should have marked this thread as solved. I already fixed it using Gparted. :)

If you go to /usr and search for gcc maybe gcc.real will come up and you can tell me where exactly it points to?
yep. Did that already. I removed and installed build-essential again, but it still says gcc.real was not found. I think it has something to do with the broken link. Perhaps if I can get the actual...
I think I have found the reason but don't know how to fix it. The gcc.real link is broken;see the screenshot.
aww...I missed it. phidia is the winner :lolflag:
~$gcc hello.c -o hello
Unable to exec gcc.real: No such file or directory
I think its supposed to say "gcc:No input files" if I just run "gcc".
I have build-essential and whenever I try to run gcc it says:
me@my-desktop~ $ gcc
Unable to exec gcc.real: No such file or directory
What should I do now?
Hi, I was trying to install Ubuntu Hardy on my 4 GB USB drive using this guide and screwed it. :(
While installing I made two partitions exactly as suggested in that guide. I was not able to boot...
When I try to update the database I get:
$ updatedb
updatedb: can not open a temporary file for `/var/lib/mlocate/mlocate.db'
What am I doing wrong?
This one is stolen :D
Just open "Home" and click c drive (or whatever drive you have your media in)

I will really appreciate step by step instructions to do this!:)
Or this:
I just want to get these things working :D
I was wondering the same thing. Probably all players share some common code.
Hi,
I'm having problems with all media players I've tried so far -- kaffeine, totem, Mplayer and VLC.
Whenever I try to skip a bit forward or backward in a video(by dragging the slider), it...
You need an extra 'w' in ww to make it www
You should add a link to kubuntu.org there,IMO.
That apparently is a very secure language.O:)
Nah...Linux is secure already. What we need is to rewrite windows.
flash is more dangerous than build-essential
How do I manually check that the sound driver *is* installed? Is it possible to play mp3's without the sound driver installed?
build-essential a security risk? who says so?
After installing a Linux distro, how many drivers do you have to install?
I just install the video driver and everything else just works automagically...there is sound in the speakers and I am...
