Don't want to re-route the the thread, but are there any ways that you think could help make women more aware of Ubuntu?

Tried a few different things today to no avail. Is this post getting no replies cause A) Nobody plays 1.6 anymore B) Nobody has this issue (I know its out there) or C) No solution...

a .tar.gz file or a .tar file are just archives or compressed files. Similar to .rar, .zip, etc.
I am still very happy with my 5700LE in this box and a 128MB 6200 (I think) in the bedroom. Mainly, I just play 1.6. Not a big Source kind of guy though :-P

Yeah, I pretty much have those same settings, but I don't emulate a virtual desktop.
Some reason, just really choppy voice comm.
Might do some research tonight and find out if there is a better...

I got it now. Using OSS. Didn't have audio configured in WINE.
However, my voice comm is really choppy. Any ideas on that one? I will check your steam4linux post sometime.
I use this: wine "C:/Program Files/Valve/Steam/steam.exe" -fullscreen -height 768 -width 1200 -applaunch 10 -gl -heapsize 512000
If you aren't using a capable vid card, take off the -gl though.
For the games list being in your way, double click CS, then click the X in the game list window. I had that a few times too.
I am having sound lag issues with my CS
Mine looks almost similar to that for a 420cn, but The top field is just the IP, no lpd or anything. The bottom box didn't work when I put the name in, so now it just looks like this: /192.168.0.116/
