  1. [all variants] Re: "the disk drive for /tmp is not ready or not yet present"

I have the same problem and have had it since I installed Kubuntu (selected home to be encrypted) last summer. No /tmp in fstab, so maybe the problem is in the encryption mechanism?

    [kubuntu] Phantom scrolls

So, I recently got my new Logitech M570 trackball, but it has a slight scrolling problem. The wheel by itself works fine, but once in a while it scrolls by one click up/down by itself. I was thinking...

Poll: Re: who puts files/folders on their desktop?

I'm using KDE and I have 1 desktop just for plasmoids (every desktop has its own activity). It has 3 folders I use most, CPU monitor, calculator and a blackboard. Other desktops are clean, for using...

Re: Why are you who you are? Your username

Haha, not really hard to figure out how I got my name... :D

But actually I don't remember the real story, I just know it was my Runescape accounts name like 8 years ago. Now I use it everywhere...

I've tried them, but that annoying screech just gave my a headache. :?
  7. Re: Ammonia as a fuel in spark ignition and diesel engines

Hmmm... If I am correct, then the formula for ammonia + oxygen reaction produces nitric oxide (NO). Since nitric oxide oxidises into nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and the latter is a brown toxic gas,...

    Re: Bandwidth hogs

My real speed differs from the advertised speed by 0.2 Mbit/s, so it's pretty good advertising. :)

Re: Why do we stick with Linux?

Because I don't like buying/pirating software, even if the free option needs a little work put into it.
  12. Re: Pioneer One: the first free and legal BitTorrent "TV" series

Seems a pretty good show. :)
A bit less special effects than usual, but the storyline makes up for it. But that makes me think - why did they choose a sci-fi type, not a "normal" type (like Psych,...

Re: a new twist on an old logic puzzle

Wouldn't it be 0.5 chance of B* and 0.5 chance of G*? That would mess up everything following that. :P

Thus there would be three pairs left: BB, BG and GB, out of which BB has a 1/3 chance.
  15. Re: Linux = Google Chrome Browser according to best buy.

That would be best to use, if everybody knew what SarcMark looked like. Unfortunately mostly computer-literate people know/use it. My solution was to use this. Represents sarcasm quite well imho. :)

  19. Re: windows guy tryin to learn linux and develop on/for it

I use Code::Blocks and it works perfectly.
Try making a new C++ project. It should generate a "Hello World!" application, press F9 to build&compile. If that doesn't work, I have no idea what's wrong.
