    I always keep everything up-to-date (11.10) and I don't have any problems nor have I had any hiccups in a long time.

    There are:
    two cpus
    two disk manufacturers
    two disk sizes
    two screen manufacturers
    two screen sizes

    There are less than 2^5=32...

    Most things in Mactel PPA aren't needed. My script builds what is. Off the top of my head this is only macfanctld--and even that isn't strictly needed by I like to have it (peace of mind).
