    Well, I was so excited a week to 10 days ago because an update happened and the machine would shut down. TODAY another update happened and it is BACK to the old restart every time it shuts down....

    Thank you, but on April 6 I wiped the drive and clean installed Ubuntu 16. Ubuntu 15 had the SAME problem, that started with an update in October 2015. Before that, Ubuntu 15 shut down fine.
