Thanks! I'm just going to add ".old" to the ones currently set and put the new ones in their places. The weird part about where to put them is that their set position in /hicolor/ has the resolution...
Hi everyone,
I just installed Sparkleshare to see what the big deal is. I like it, but, as is customary of anything that doesn't default Ubuntu-ish icons, the tray notification sort of sticks out....
I opened Start-Up Applications to add something new, and accidentally hit Remove. Can someone give me the list of what is originally install so I can add it back? Many thanks.
EDIT: I did a little...
I don't know if it's aptitude, apt-get, or just synaptic, but I installed a program from source and it bugs me that it doesn't register in the package manager. Any simple remedy?
MetalMusicAddict: After I've done all that stuff you said in your first post, can I delete the half-a-million packages that were installed? I'm a bit of a space miser...
I need to simply put my MPD password in:
/usr/share/dockmanager/scripts/mpd_control.py
By default, it checks for a password in Sonata's configurations, then .mpdconf, then /etc/mpd.conf.
How...
I'm using Conky NightDrive. I absolutely love it and I've come leaps and bounds in configuring it to work with my system, but I have one hurdle left yet:
If MPD is playing, it shows the play arrow...
The title sort of says it. Let me give some details.
I tried editing Plymouth to look more elementary. I used Plymouth manager and Zorin Splash Screen Manager trying to get this. Not surprisingly, I...
I have scoured everywhere, and I cannot find a good GTK theme that goes along with the general HUD look. That look being: dark gray with transparency, not much color at all, pinstripe borders,...
Alright, so I'm just as stirred with the news of GNOME Shell getting screwed over by Unity. I thought it would be Unity for netbooks and the GNOME Shell for desktops and more powerful notebooks....
Aha! I found the culprit! I was using the Telepathy PPA; a simple ppa-purge fixed it. I feel kinda stupid, but I suppose this can make a great lesson to anyone else that encounters the problem. :D
Wow, really? Bump.
I use 64-bit Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat stable. The 'Chat' entry in the Messaging Menu has disappeared. I tried a quick fix by placing a file of no extension titled 'empathy' in...
This is definitely not how it's supposed to be. I'm here because I had the same error. I tried your fix, but it just adds the entry, no integration: always a "Set Up Chat..." entry.
Does anybody...
Success!
:guitar:
I kind of expected this:
dropbox: command not found
I just need to know the command used to launch the newest (.8-something) Dropbox so I can make a launcher.
Oh, for anyone wondering, here's what to do:
Hit ALT+F2, and type in "gconf-editor", but without the quotes. Then, under "/desktop/gnome/session/required_components/panel", change the value from...
Can't explain it! Uninstalled twice, now just use Virtualbox OSE, works just fine. :)
Hahaha, sorry I'm so late! :P I didn't think anyone would ever bother to answer the thread; I though it was dead! Anyway, I installed the panel applet through the PPA, and downloaded the library from...
When I do it, nothing happens. The applet opens with a frowning face, and restarting it does nothing.
So, I fresh installed the Virtualbox GTK interface in 64-bit Ubuntu 10.04 LTS from the Ubuntu Software Center, and it won't launch from the menu. When I try it from the terminal, this is the error...
Bump.
Oh, yes. asmoore82's fix worked perfectly. Thanks a million.
