Ubuntu does not fit on a CD, that might be your problem. Burn the ISO to a DVD, that might work.
I guess with logic like that, all boot issues should have ended in a different century. No more BSD boot issues. No more Mac OS boot issues. No more Linux boot issues. Wow!!!! What a concept.
If you mean COOL like all the chicks will dig you, then I definitely know what you mean. If you mean hip, like all the dudes want emulate you, then I also know what you mean.

Hello,
That is how I always install any new distro. I always disconnect every SSD and hard drive except the target. I have found that this makes installation much easier. Unfortunately something...
I was unable to correct this booting issue so uninstalled Kubuntu 18.04 and installed Ubuntu 18.04 instead. The issue has now been resolved.
I just checked and I have a healthy EFI partition on each SSD. I was thinking that I just might begin to use GRUB and select Windows to boot first. How hard would it be to add GRUB to my system? I...
Thanks oldfred for that info. I will check into that ESP and post back once I find out for sure.

I am currently running a Kubuntu 17.10 installation that I downloaded on 12/13.2017 on an Intel based system. This is my main OS but I keep it updated. Am I safe?
It seems to me that the very easy fix would be to wipe the external SSD clean then shut off the computer. Then unplug the internal hard drive with Windows 10 and then re-install Ubuntu on the...

Why on Earth would a cab driver had done this for you 72 years ago? I do not understand your point. If you are upset that you got a discount then just give a bigger tip.
I'm in my 60s and I have not seen any issues with the font or type on the Internet lately. Maybe I am visiting the wrong websites.
I did a fresh install of 17.10 on to a little 250 gb SSD and everything is working perfectly. No problems with the install and no problems with the OS.
I am just having fun setting it up now.
First, I use Audacious which sounds alright, it is not Windows quality. But considering that...

As a long time Windows user and a recent convert to the world of Linux, the right click method just seems to be the easiest method to create a new folder in Ubuntu.
Or maybe a Puppy Linux might be better for an old PC;

And Puppy Linux has a great support forum as well.
Have you looked at any Linux distros lately? There is definitely so much difference and variety in the different Linux distros that I am sure that you have not looked into Linux for over a dozen...
Welcome to the forum. Go ahead and tell us your story.
True enough on that. But re-reading the OP's initial post it seems again, like the way he described his experience that he was competent enough to work through that little issue as well.
I might...
