It sounds like it could be a thermal problem, monitor your cpu temperature.
Have you monitored the temperature?
In Gimp, Image->print size may be what you need
What do you mean by 'actual size'? I hope it's not an image of a tree, house or mountain etc.
Hi, I had a similar problem because I had removed the swap partition. Use the system monitor to check that you have a valid swap.

Thanks for your help guys.
I had no luck with this. Unfortunately This Acer is locked on UEFI mode, there is no way to change it, apart from new bios firmware I suppose. hahaha
Thanks again, Mike
Hi each,
My Acer A515-52 bios does not allow booting except with UEFI.
How can I make a UEFI bootable mem stick from an ISO file? In particular I want to make a bootable stick with...
I think the mkusb command will delete all your data, be careful.
What is "a file like a folder"?
How did you create "a file like a folder"?
You have to find the process that is taking up the cpu time. Run the Administration system monitor and select
"show all processes" from it's menu. Then select the processes tab. You should see the...
Holger_Gehrke, What an absolutely perfect reply. Such a rare thing surely deserves some sort of User group Oscar.
Thanks, Mike
Try running SimpleScan from a terminal and observe the output. This can be helpful sometimes.

Try booting into Ubuntu, open a terminal and entering: sudo update-grub
then reboot and try to boot windows again.

I'm using 32bit Gnome Flashback (Compiz) and don't seem to be able to install the Human theme. I like rounded corners on windows.
I've installed the Human theme but it doesn't show up in...
It normally happens on my small netbook when some button or other is off screen. I can't remember any specific app but it always happens on a live version when installing.
move the cursor to centre (or anywhere) of an unmaximised window, press alt and hold left mouse button down, then move the mouse
Bucky Ball, of course it's useful to move a window as Robbyx wants. It's possible to alt-click and move a window using any part of a window, not just the title bar. What I would like is to prevent...
Doesn't work for me. What a dumb thing to do, a username/password on on a live version.
What is the username & password?
Thanks
I found a reference to FADT here: https://www.freebsd.org/doc/handbook/acpi-overview.html
Just a guess, could it be that the software won't allow an earlier bios to be installed? FATD Found Advance Date Time ????? Total guess though.
It sounds like you need to do a re-install. Before you do, copy your home directory to a memory stick with the live CD/USB
By the way, it's 12.04 not 12.4
cheers
Latest version is 4.3
Thanks for that mn_voyageur.
Why TF doesn't it say so?
