[SOLVED] Re: Can you test booting into an nvme drive?

For a long time I was weary of turning it off. MS put the fear in me. Then I came to my senses, and now its off. I think all Arch installs wont install with it on.

Re: Linux cannot detect SATA ssd

Fred, does you m.2 have "1" slot or "2" slots on the connector side?
I just read the "1" is NVME, and the "2" is SATA

Re: Linux cannot detect SATA ssd

I've never seen an m.2 that wasn't nvme. I'll have to find one. I do know mine plainly states on the box nvme. I mistakenly thought they all were.

Re: Linux cannot detect SATA ssd

Something is amiss here. m.2 ssd's are nvme not dev's.
My ssd is 'dev' mount '/dev/sdaX'. Can leave RST in BIOS
My m.2 ssd is nvme as in /nvme/sdaX which need AHCI in BIOS if dual boot.

[ubuntu] Re: Slower file copying in Ubuntu than in Windows

The kernels shouldn't have anything to do with file copying, unless of course an updated driver is included.
I didn't solve it, just use Windows for NTFS file copying, and Linux for everything else.

[ubuntu] Re: Slower file copying in Ubuntu than in Windows

@filud, I've had same issue. Not only that, but whereas Linux, not just Ubuntu, the mouse is jerky at best when copying or moving files. Windows never slows down mouse movement.

Fond memories of Warty. I still remember how impressed I was, which room I was when I installed it. I've jumped around a bit, but kept Ubuntu close by. Great contribution Canonical!
