People think Linux is just for people who don't have a social life or they dont even know it exists. I tell OS X users if they want a free OS to run on their desktop they should run FreeBSD, to which...

Sure they are more "script" based than C, but you have just started programming and you are getting slightly ahead of yourself with making applications etc.
