[ubuntu] Re: Realtek wireless constantly timing out

Doesn't appear to be.. same problem. It takes forever trying to connect, *if* it connects, it times out after 20-30sec. I've tried No Encryption, WEP, WPA, WPA2... all do the same thing.

  8. [SOLVED] Re: Really slow wireless internet on ubuntu 11.10

You should make sure you have the same hardware as the people that are being helped, when following instructions. You're using an Intel 4965, so start your search there.
  9. [SOLVED] Re: My network doesnt appear on the wifi list

Have you tried just "creating a new connection" as if you were connecting to a hidden network... to see if it will let you on your network?
  10. [SOLVED] Re: Really slow wireless internet on ubuntu 11.10

Just for grins, I booted a live USB of 11.04, and still have the exact same problem. Don't really wanna go back to 10.04, but I guess if I have to, I can.

Edit: I just booted a Live USB of...

Seems most of this thread is about Atheros, but if anyone can help me with a Realtek(different device than the one mentioned above) problem, I would really appreciate it.

[ubuntu] Re: Install Ubuntu 10.10 completely

Well, at this point, if the installer has froze, you have no choice but to attempt a restart... I'm not aware of any terminal command that will "restart" the installer where it left off.
  19. [SOLVED] Re: Absolute beginner in need of help installing Ubuntu

If he's got 10.10.. There's no reason to download ubuntu 10.04... It's not going to change hardware recognition.

OP... did you download the 10.10img file, or the 10.10 ISO?

Well, you're on an Ubuntu forum, so I'd suggest either Ubuntu 10.04 or 10.10... but even it is only stable if your hardware is.. boot a live CD and try it.

I'm not sure i understand your panel...

    [ubuntu] Re: Wireless

Look in lspci output, and find your wireless device and tell us what it says. You would think since you're having wireless problems, this would be fairly obvious when you were given that command.
