    Ubuntu's version of Gnome 40

To me, it is actually perverse for Ubuntu to say they are using Gnome when they don't center the application icons. Sure you can put them at the bottom but how much would it take for the developers...

Kernel 5.8.1 works fine so far with Govvy in a VMware VM. I'm thinking of installing it on an SSD but am not sure that that even the latest VMware with the Github host modules patches works with...

Not sure where your running kernel thread is but kernel 5.4.2 is available and works (with the exception of the kludge in grub.cfg for RAID 0 introduced in kernel 5.3. which apparently was...

[server] Re: ZFS and Server 20.04

I am using ZFS as my FS chosen during the installation. It is quite fast on my NVme SSD. The one problem I have is that I can't figure out how to upgrade the kernel.

Re: Kernel 5.2RC (Release Candidate) series

What's up with rc3. The directory does not have any compiled code and hasn't for a couple of days. I've never seen anything like this.

Re: Easy upgrade path from Disco to Eoan

The real point is that Ubuntu linux can be upgraded to a new version just by editing (or using sed) a single text file. Compare and contrast to Windows (which I only run these in a VM).

Easy upgrade path from Disco to Eoan

Re: Disco as next 19.04 release

Did you try sudo update-manager -d.? I had no problems doing the upgrade this way. Also you can now download an iso from the ubuntu daily servers if you want a clean/VM install.

Re: Kernel 4.12RC (Release Candidate) series

Kernel 4.12rc3 fails to boot on a physical drive or in a VMware WS 12.5.6 VM. Since rc2 works in both instances, rc3 seems to be a regression. Anybody else had different result?.
