My cdrom drive was working until yesterday it didn't mount at all. It said 'special device /dev/scd0 does not exist'.
I went and checked in BIOS and the CD rom was not identified there as...

I too hv the same problem.
Now, i installed 8.04 by booting from cd and then installing it.
Everything worked fine until I tried to mount the CD/DVD volume and it said "Could not mount the volume"....

I would like to know how to modify pdf documents and how to type text in such documents. I hv already installed pdfedit, but it doesn't seem to cater to my needs.
