It works upto a point. I can access the internet but it is very slow. When I disconnect the LAN it speeds up to its normal speeds.

You really shouldn't need to know the ip of the printer. Just add a printer via "System=>Administration=>Printing. It should detect your networked printer.

You should be able to reconfigure xorg from the recovery menu, just off my head as I am awqy from my laptop.
