Sweet :-)
Linux is pretty good at booting up anywhere :-)
Although that probably not good if the wireless isn't working straight away :-(
We may still have a bit more to do yet :-)
The fan on the cooler should be able to fit on the other side of the heat sink, just make sure that the air is going the same way as the exhaust fan.
usually the 8 pin cable from the PSU will be 2x4 pin plugs that can clip together (for backwards compatibility with old boards). But according to the page on microcenter, that unit lacks 8pin power....
looking good, but I'm not quite sure what you are saying about the RAM. Are they not sitting in the slots properly?
EDIT: By SSD, do you mean HDD? I can't seem to find any solid state drives in...
cool, btw I'm not busy right now so I'm more or less monitoring this thread
as long as everything is plugged in to where it is supposed to be, and most of the connectors will only plug in one spot, you should be fine. If your really worried, you could post a photo of it :-)
The cooler master compound is quite good, don't worry about getting any other.
Sounds good, but dump the 6450, the 3570k onboard graphics are better :-)
Also TBH that cooler is rubbish. The prodigy will actually fit MASSIVE coolers due to it's layout. For that same price I'd...
That is a great board, I've actually used it in a build before. Unfortunately it's an m-atx board and not m-itx, which is smaller. One thing to note about m-itx boards is that they only have one...
wait, do you mean actually putting a set of speakers inside of the case itself? That seems a bit strange, but ok.
Some gamer-oriented boards will have problems under linux. It's not that the...
That motherboard seems a bit overkill...
Have considered an m-itx case, such as the bitfenix prodigy?
It will fit everything, and I mean everything.
Update: Upon booting it this morning, everything works fine. WTF. Oh well, marked as solved.
Hello. I updated my desktop yesterday (apt-get dist-upgrade) and now, after rebooting today, it is now crashing after anywhere between 5 and 40 seconds after logging in to an Desktop session (tested...
You could try plugging the drive into a usb 2 port and benchmarking it there as well, then comparing the results.
Ubuntu comes with an app called disk utility, it can do read benchmarks on a drive. It can also do write benchmarks, but that requires the drive to be completely blank.
Thanks, but I got it sorted. I was able achieve what I wanted to do with xinput.
hello, I'm setting up something similar, would you be able to clarify what exactly the contents of your current /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-joystick.conf file is?
thanks :-)
+1 for the bitfenix prodogy. It's an amazing little case.
Personally I muh prefer to have my htpc's and Server's separate. I'm actually looking into getting one of those awesome little odroid-X...
Short answer is yes.
On top of that, you can have some problems with advanced format (4k as opposed to 512b sectors) which can cause the drive to be very slow if you don't set it up right at first.
Even though they do...
Just thought I'd add, if you want it to open, but still be able to use that terminal, you can use, for example your home directory:
nautilus ~ &
just put an & at the end.
It depends on the controller the card is using. Just try and get one using an NEC controller, and it will work great. ASMedia and Etron controllers MAY cause problems; on one of my computers with an...
Hmm...
I've never really had any problems with sound on vba. It is actually a really good emulator if you set it up right. Try setting frameskip to 9 (it will look mega jerky) and see if the sound...
How familiar are you with VBA?
Have you made sure that under options>frameskip>throttle, 100% is selected?
