Hi,
fair point regarding the hardware issue :) I'll get the Nvidia model when I get back, but in terms of the crash. The screen freezes, you can't do anything apart from holding down the power.
Hi all,
about 4-5 years ago I put a new system together comprising of a quad AMD chip and a AS-rock board with Nvidia grahpics on, nothing mind blowing. I always had problems on Linux with the...
It's been a good learning exercise, but as mentioned above I'll probably go for a VPN solution instead of messing around with SSH tunnels as I can't get it working on cyanogen mod 12.1 on my phone....
Okies, this is what I've got as I've added Charles SSH brute force bits in as well:
# Flush all rules
iptables -F
iptables -X
# INPUT Policy to drop
iptables -P INPUT DROP
# Allow Loopback
As Charles as suggested, I've removed the drop/forward rules, so this is what I've ended up with so far and it's now working with ssh tunnel
iptables -F
iptables -X
iptables -P INPUT DROP

Hi guys, thanks for the replies.
The Cog, I think you're right. I've gone through auth.log and I'm seeing this sort of error:

Thanks Charles, I've had a play but still can't seem to get anything working when the script is running.
I'll have another play with it tonight

Hi all,

Hi,
I think you've missed the point of what I'm trying to say, I appreciate servers needing ssh server installing for remote access but why does the client install it on a laptop?
Hi all,
I've been playing around with X2go lately, I installed the server and the xfce desktop on a test ssh machine with no problems. I then installed the x2go client via the software centre on...
Hi,
sorry to hijack the thread, but I've got a rooted nexus 7 and I've installed DroidWall on it. I can now stop things trying to connect out, but I also want to stop incoming packets.
So If I...
hi,
I've been playing with this as well, as I use Mint 17 on my desktop and have a Windows 7 laptop. Try and disable the firewall first and see what happens, does it ask for any username/password?...
Hi Habitual,

One guy mentioned that he...
The encryption looks good, I'll get that set up thanks for the link.
Sorry I should of mentioned I'm good for securing SSH with Keys etc, any other ideas on the Apache front ? :)
Hi all,
I'm thinking about setting up an OwnCloud instance and I'm after some advice on hardening the server, before I expose it to the badness that is the internet.
I wasn't sure if this was a...
I've got Crunchbang installed on my eee netbook, runs like a dream :-)
I've come across some more details of the hack/incident, there is a link to the white paper pdf.

Hi,
I've not used a 515 but I do have a pix 501, I'm sure they can't be that different. By default on the pix, everything is allowed out and nothing is allowed in.
Is the 515 different, do you...
I thought so, I agree it could do with being removed from the default install.
I wonder would Crunchbang run on that?
I always thought that vino was disabled by default?
