    Additional drivers is blank with no options to do anything that I could tell.

    So the stop service commands did not work. I get the impression the goal was to stop the X Display MANAGER. Ok, so what is the X Display manager in Lubuntu 12.10?

    I think that there is an IE emulator which is part of WINE so you have to install WINE. Otherwise I have not heard of installing Internet Explorer on Ubuntu.
