One thing that would be a huge help with the IRL meetings is if we could get more people in IRC to help plan them. We try to meet most Tuesdays in the channel from 8:00 - 9:00 PM EST to discuss stuff...
To add to what jkeyes0 said we are really wanting to have more IRL meetings. The online stuff was good to start out with but it would be a lot more fun to actually try to get together for a meeting....
If all you want is Zenoss installed then it may be worth it to look at http://www.rpath.org/rbuilder/project/zenoss/.
This is something that has the potential to be very exciting for the Linux community here in the Lexington area. I feel that if KY Trade wants to make a move like this then we as a team need to...
Tannster,
Welcome to the team. :)
Did you post a screen shot Koji?
I know that XFCE is a minimal environment but I am not seeing anything at all.
We have received books from O'Reilly to use as door prizes and stuff at the event. See more info at http://ubuntu-kentucky.org
There is a mailing list thread started at https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-us-ky/2007-December/000153.html to continue to discuss this event.
For this thing to work we really need to start planning for it now. Please get involved with the planning. Would it be better to do all planning here, irc, or mailing list? I am open to any of them...
w00t. We have a running web site again. Point your browser to http://ubuntu-kentucky.org to see what we have so far.
[QUOTE=dbrower256;3932104]I don't see POSTFIX as one of the options to install? What exactly is POSTFIX?/QUOTE]
Postfix is an open source email server. http://www.postfix.org/
Drop by the irc channel (#ubuntu-kentucky) and chat with us about it.
We are currently thinking of moving the site to a new host. This has been a slow process to this point but hopefully we will get it resolved in the next few weeks.
What about the idea of having a BBQ / Release Party? This fall will be a good time to be doing something like that I think.
So who is up for a Gutsy Release Party? We tried to have one with Feisty but with the Install Fest on the same day it kind of fell through. What do you say we try again?
Try this one. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/CompositeManager/CompizFusion
Why does it feel like everyone is gung-ho to do this kind of stuff but then no one ever wants to actually do it. Us getting this number of Case Badges was discussed in a meeting and people in there...
We are planning on going to OLF this year as a team. Who is interested in going with us. We don't all have to ride together or anything just meet up there for part of it.
I just wish that the fonts were right. First they were huge and now they are tiny. I dont know what the difference is between Feisty and Gutsy in this regard to mess the fonts up like this. Oh well....
Just to clarify something, are you only looking for work in Frankfort or are you open to other areas as well? (I don't know of anything right now though)
Sweet deal. I just sent you some $$$ to help with the cost. If I read it right then the order has to be in by tomorrow.
Well I say we get together anyway. If we show that we are going to actually meet then maybe others would start to come.
I installed Gutsy Tribe 4 on a test machine at work today. Things are not perfect with it by any means but it looks like it is gonna be yet another great release by the wonderful devs. Have any of...
Lets really try to get these things going. It will be great to get to meet in person from time to time. This is a great way to do it too.
