    [gnome] Re: Audacious Wiki-Lyrics Plugin

It seems you have a bigger problem with your Ubuntu installation. You probably mistakenly did something very bad :) I suggest you either reinstall Ubuntu or start a thread on these forums to ask for...

    [gnome] Re: Audacious Wiki-Lyrics Plugin

You'd have to write a ruby script that parses your site's lyrics pages, or convince the author of the Amarok ruby plugin that I use, to write one for you. None of these is very practical, I am pretty...

    [gnome] Audacious Wiki-Lyrics Plugin

Hello. I have written a small Audacious plugin to interface with this Amarok lyrics script. It is still in beta stage, but I think it's ready for an initial release.

    It works with Audacious...
  5. Re: Bash script problem - using wiki-lyrics with Audacious

I am just bumping to post that I have written a small Audacious plugin that uses the Amarok script and displays the results in a window (which it reuses). The plugin is in Alpha state, and I won't...

    [gnome] Run Application dialog auto-complete

After installing ubuntu 8.10, the Run Application dialogue's behaviour has changed. It automatically auto-completes what I type, and I want to disable that.

For example, I want to run jedit, and...

    Disable --skip-grant-tables in MySQL db

I am trying to build an application with sensitive data stored into a MySQL database, and I am worried by the fact that hijacking the root account is as simple as running 'mysqld --skip-grant-tables'...
  11. [ubuntu] Re: uh ... what happened to the terminals on tty1 to tty6?

Please post the way you solved this. I also have fglrx, don't have tty's, although I'd looked into it some time ago and found that the problem was the keyboard shortcuts for the tty's weren't...
  12. [all variants] Re: Oggenc (from Grip) makes MP3 files?

This worked. I always thought that if I checked that option, no metada would be written, but everything is OK. Thank you.
  13. [all variants] Re: Oggenc (from Grip) makes MP3 files?

By the way, I checked one of my own ogg files with 'strings', and it is just like the OP's. I also erased the lines up to "OggS", which seem to be the ID3 tag, and then the file was identified as Ogg...
  14. [all variants] Re: Oggenc (from Grip) makes MP3 files?

I have the same problem. I think it's because ogg files are not supposed to have ID3 tags, and grip adds them to ogg files too, thus ruining their structure. The ogg files I have created with grip...

[ubuntu] Re: can't view my pdf files

The fact that they come from the same source may mean that the compressed file was corrupt during download. Maybe you should try to obtain them again.

  23. [ubuntu] Re: [SOLVED] Using Ctrl+Alt+F1 to access tty screen

I just changed it to keycode 67 = F1 XF86_Switch_VT_1, ran xmodmap to confirm that it was OK (it was), and pressed Ctrl+Alt+F1. Nothing happened.

EDIT: Btw, I think I was right before when I said...
