[ubuntu] Re: Asus Zenbook Prime UX31A and UX32VD

Thanks for the prod. I went with 3.3 because I'd initially tried 3.4 and it wouldn't boot... but I suspect now that that must have been something I did wrong.

Installed 3.5.0rc6 and your Fn keys...

[ubuntu] Re: Asus Zenbook Prime UX31A and UX32VD

I upgraded my UX32VD's kernel to 3.3 (still running Ubuntu 12.04) and it seems (touch wood!) to have stopped the random total lockups I was getting a couple of times per day previously. I did lose...

[ubuntu] Re: Asus Zenbook Prime UX31A and UX32VD

nexero's DKMS package here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=12054636#post12054636 gave me mostly working function keys (UX32VD, Ubuntu 12.04). No screen brightness keys yet though.
  4. [SOLVED] Re: [SOLVED] E:Encountered a section with no Package: header, E:Problem with MergeLis

Interestingly the same fix solved the same problem for a Nokia N900.

I guess Maemo and Ubuntu aren't that many miles apart, and I love having a phone I can run apt-get on :-)

    [ubuntu] Re: "Device not managed"

I had a similar problem today.

For ME it turned out to be because I'd upgraded to Jaunty from a previous version. The previous version (or maybe something else I'd fiddled with) had put...

Re: monodevelop - executable not found

Thanks for the info - that makes a lot of sense. And yes, I installed through Synaptic.

Agree it would be too strong to make gmcs a hard dependency... but it is likely the first thing that a new...

Re: monodevelop - executable not found

Just installed MonoDevelop and gotta say it looks it like a fantastic project.

But what's with the GMCS thing? Sure, I found this thread and solved my problem in 30 seconds but, if nothing will...

[ubuntu] Re: cd ripping - rythmbox

    OK... update.

My pops & clicks were weird cos they were partly reproduceable (replay same track, same clicks in same places => fault is surely in the encoder) and partly variable (moved around on...

[ubuntu] Re: cd ripping - rythmbox

Hey Eric, I had the same issue. Installed LAME and thought I had all the necessary codecs.

In Preferences, on the Music tab, the "Preferred format" listbox showed a selection of profiles I didn't...

Re: my netbeans 6 came without javadoc

I'm with you Stratok... NetBeans install didn't bring in the JDK javadoc and the other thread didn't solve the problem. But manually pointing NetBeans at the documentation ZIP gave me everything I...
  12. [xubuntu] Re: Internet radio requires text/html decoder plugin

    Excellent - many thanks.

I was getting this error on a fresh install of Xubuntu 8.04 trying to play internet radio in Rhythmbox. Found this thread through a google search.
