bump...anyone have any ideas?
i just wiped my drive and did a clean install of xubuntu 12.10 64-bit...before i wiped, i created a share on another ubuntu PC on the network (32-bit 12.10) and copied all my important files to it.
...
that didn't seem to work...am i editing the wrong file?
i've also switched to openbox with xfce4-panel, and that has added a whole new twist on things.
when i right click on the desktop and go...
nice idea, and i've got that working now...thanks!
one last question - any way i can change the text on desktop icons from black to white?
anyone have any idea if there's a way to make this happen?
so, i've got ubuntu 12.04 installed (that's why i used ubuntu as prefix rather than lubuntu)...but i've also got lxde running as my default desktop environment. i also much prefer nautilus as a file...
seems there's something drastically wrong with the .18 kernel. roll back to .17 has solved my issues as well...
i too am seeing random nonsensical crashes since the update. haven't tried rolling back to the older kernel yet, i'll give that a shot.
awesome :/
it was working fine until yesterday...is there a way i can get debugging back? i'd rather not have to wipe my entire machine and start over...
i'm having this issue right now suddenly with an android app i'm writing...it's frustrating the hell out of me, as it has pretty much completely disrupted my development.
anyone know how to fix...
can someone please help me get this working in xubuntu 10.10? i've followed all the instructions on the first post, tried adding the -s switch to fusesmb, tried using gigolo...nothing has gotten me...
have you been able to connect to wpa2 networks with this driver? i was hoping to use the updated driver because i was looking for a solution to the low signal strength issue, but now i'm back to not...
now i guess i screwed something up with the display drivers, because i can't get the system to boot now. even recovery mode takes me to a blank screen...
someone help me, please?
can someone PLEASE help me here before i end up breaking things out of frustration? i can't believe after bumping this thread every day for a week that NOBODY has ANY IDEA how to help me here...
...
bump...ANY ideas? please? seriously, NOBODY has ANY ideas on how i can get this working? anything at all?
i find it really hard to believe that nobody has any ideas...come on, someone throw me a bone here. please...
ok, i've got an update...using wicd and wpa_gui, i was able to determine (or at least i think i did) that the wpa2 negotiation is successful, the computer just fails to get an IP address after that....
someone, anyone, please?
seriously, nobody has any idea how to help me with this? i've been trying for months to fix this and would really love to ditch windows altogether, but i need to be able to use wifi before i can do...
anyone?
can anyone help?
i have an old inspiron 8100 that doesn't really run windows xp even very well...so i'm trying to put ubuntu on it. i had 9.04 installed, but am unable to get my belkin f5d7010 version 7 to connect...
i've gotten the card working using bits and pieces of a few different writeups and a few different drivers. i 've installed ndisgtk and used that to install the windows drivers...
the problem is...
when i modify the line specified, i get a message telling me that running enlightenment directly is bad - what gives? i can't seem to get this to work any other way...
OK, a few things...
1) I was able to install the package when I used the add/remove applications...not sure why it wouldn't let me when I was trying to do it thru the terminal.
2) As for...
